Greetings Coaches! I’d like to invite you to this year’s Junior Team Invitational event, held in Indianapolis, IN, July 15th through 17th, 2011! Matches will be held in the Zionsville/Carmel area at nearby schools and tennis facilities. Our competition always includes teams from Indianapolis, St. Louis, Chicago, and Columbus and we hope to add several other cities to the competition this year. We can have more than one team from a city.

Please reserve a spot for your city in this event today by contacting Megan Brimmer by April 15, 2011. Team rosters and entry fees will not be due until you arrive but it is encouraged that you get your roster to us as soon as possible so that we can help you reserve the correct number of hotel rooms. Dates: July 15th – 17th, 2011

Evening Social: Saturday, July 16th. Hosted by Team Witsken Tennis. Details TBA.

Times: Matches will begin at 8 or 9 a.m. on the 15th. Each team will have one match on the morning of the 17th and will end by noon on the 17th. Schedule may change due to rain.

Ages: B8, B10, B12, B14, B16, B18, G8, G10, G12, G14, G16, G18
Two (2) players for each division, you may bring subs; we can also help fill your rosters if need be. Please contact Rick or Megan as soon as possible if you need players. Every attempt will be made to find your team a player if you can’t find a player for a division. Let Rick or Megan know your needs as soon as possible.

Teams: Teams will consist of 20 or more players each, all intermediate/advanced intermediate players who have a low district or sectional ranking, or players who have a high ranking who play up an age group.

Team Costs: $1200 Per Team – Price includes player entries, cost of balls and t-shirts, fruit and snacks, trophies, and staffing at the tournament locations. This breaks down to $60 per player unless you bring substitutes to compete with your team.

Format: Round-robin Team Dual Matches
Each Dual Match will consist of:
  • 10 boys singles matches
  • 10 girls singles matches
  • 5 boys doubles matches
  • 5 girls doubles matches
  • 10 mixed doubles matches
Final tournament: Traditionally, the format has been head to head dual matches with all teams and the team with the highest score wins the tournament. We hope to have enough teams to have a tournament bracket format. Contact Rick Witsken if you have questions about the tournament format.

Scoring: 6 game sets, no-ad scoring, 12 point tiebreaker played at 6-6. (Alternate Match Format may be used due to weather or time constraints).

Awards: Medals or trophies will be awarded to each winning team players and the winning team will get a team trophy to display at their club for one year.
